Early bird deadline for conference valid until the end of February

Until 28 February 2019, interested parties will be able to register online to take part in the Smart Systems Integration conference at reduced early bird prices. In addition to the varied conference program, the event also offers an accompanying exhibition and an extensive supporting program.

The Smart Systems Integration, which will take place in Barcelona from 10 - 11 April 2019, takes a holistic approach to the system integration of miniaturized components. The conference focuses on user-oriented and industry-related content and demonstrates the research and development potential of smart systems worldwide.

The following highlights will be offered to the conference participants:

  • Five keynote lectures by experts from internationally renowned companies and research institutions: Hewlett Packard Espanola S. L., RWTH Aachen, Fundacion Cidetec, European Commission and Delft University of Technology.
  • 52 top-class lectures by international speakers from science and industry.
  • A panel discussion: "Future aspects of smart integrated systems".
  • Two EPoSS Special Sessions: "Smart Systems in the Future European Funding Landscape" and "Smart Systems for Energy".
  • 25 poster presentations

There will also be a new event hosted by the Dresdner Smart Systems HUB: "Hardware, Software and Connectivity - enabling smart systems for various IoT applications." The session will focus on the core areas of the Smart Systems Hub - Enabling IoT: the comprehensive integration of hardware, software and connectivity (5G) as the foundation of our digital future.

Numerous exhibitors registered for the exhibition

At the accompanying exhibition, globally networked, highly specialized producers, service providers, suppliers and research institutes will present their products and solutions in the fields of micro and nanotechnologies, sensors and actuators, microelectronics, printed electronics and telecommunications technology.

Among the exhibitors are companies that are taking part for the first time, such as Centre for Process Innovation Limited, Intectiv d.o.o., ISP SYSTEM SA, as well as companies that are attending yet again, such as X-FAB MEMS Foundry GmbH, Creative Chips GmbH. Start-ups such as the Smart Systems Hub are also among the exhibitors.

New this year is the "Speakers Special", which enables first-time speakers of the conference to present their company with a table-top area. Participating companies so far are CEA-Léti, Micro Systems Technologies Management AG and Europractice.

Time for networking – the supporting program 2019

An extensive supporting program will accompany the event. During a pre-conference field trip to Hewlett-Packard's R&D Centre, participants can learn more about innovations in 3D and 4-D printing technologies.

On the evening of the first day of the conference, the traditional Conference Dinner will take place in the "Palau Requesens", a medieval Gothic palace in the old city of Barcelona. During this dinner, which offers space for networking and exchange, the Best Paper and Best Poster winners of the SSI 18 will be awarded.
