Seven presentation nominations and one Best Paper
Once again, the conference committee, headed by the Chairman Professor Dr. Thomas Otto from the Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems in Chemnitz, Germany, has selected the winner with the most impressive presentation from the seven nominated presentations.
Winner Best Paper Award
Dr. Larraitz Añorga, Cidetec Nanomedicine, Spain, was able to win the jury over with her lecture on “Launch to the market a truly portable Electrochemical Biosensor for Sulphite Analysis in Food Industry”. The committee presented Dr. Larraitz with the Best Paper Award for her noteworthy presentation on an innovative topic with great potential for the future.
“It will be a pleasure to receive this Award at the SSI 2019 conference and to share our achievements on printed sensors within this community. I am grateful to be able to present my project at the SSI platform – this is where the most important people in the industry meet,” explains Dr. Larraitz Añorga.
Best Poster Award goes to Germany
In contrast to the Best Paper Award, the winner of the Best Poster Award is selected by all participants of the congress as well as visitors. With the topic “Die Attach for High Power VCSEL Array Systems”, Lena Goullon from the Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability- and Microintegration IZM, Germany, was able to assert herself against her 36 competitors and win the Best Poster Award.
”It was a pleasure for the co-authors and I to receive the Best Poster Award. The SSI Dresden 2018 was an excellent opportunity to present our results and get in contact with other researchers and developers. This Award confirms that collaboration between industry and research institutes in a sound framework (BMBF project VORTEIL) is a good way to combine technology and knowledge,” confirms Lena Goullon.
Winners invited as speakers in 2019
The Award winners will be rewarded with a prize of 500 EUR as well as the opportunity to present their topics as speakers at the Smart Systems Integration 2019 from 10 -11 April 2019 in Barcelona, Spain. In addition, the traditional Conference Dinner will take place at the end of the first event day, at which the official Award Ceremony for both winners will take place.
